Volunteers’ Week Spotlight: Kemi
News Story
In celebration of Volunteers’ Week this week, we are sharing Kemi’s Volunteering Story…
Kemi’s Story
Kemi began volunteering in the FareShare Greater Manchester warehouse in November 2025 after hearing about us through her church. Since joining the volunteer team, she has become a reliable and valued team member, consistently showing dedication, positivity and a strong work ethic in what can often be a busy warehouse.
An ambassador for FareShare
Kemi quickly became an important part of the warehouse team. Her willingness to help, learn and support others has made a lasting impression on both staff and fellow volunteers. Through her commitment and experience, she now regularly assists with supporting Corporate Volunteer groups who attend FareShare for team-building volunteer days. Kemi helps to make any visitors feel welcomed and confident in the warehouse environment.
Give & Gain Employability Programme
Alongside her volunteering, Kemi is actively seeking employment. She approaches this with the same determination and professionalism she brings to her role at FareShare. Our Give and Gain programme gives personal employability support to Kemi which has included updating her CV to reflect her new skills gained with us.
Kemi’s new CV now shines as brightly as she does! Her resilience, consistency and community spirit make her an excellent example of the positive impact volunteering can have – not only for our organisation, but for individuals building new lives and connections within their community.
