But for 2.7 million children in the UK, the holidays can mean hunger and stress, as families face rising costs for food, childcare and activities.

🍏 FareShare Greater Manchester helps by supplying surplus food to places like Wigan Youth Zone, where it becomes so much more than a meal. It fuels play, friendship and support.

🍳 Our team got cooking! A few of us from FareShare Greater Manchester had an amazing evening at the @the_vegetarian_society 's new Ancoats venue, whipping up a storm in their cooking workshop.

🍚We made two delicious curries – one Thai and one Mauritian – with the help of their brilliant Chef Maz!

Thanks to the Vegetarian Society for hosting us and for being one of our fantastic Community Food Members (CFMs). 💚

📍 Based in Greater Manchester, the Vegetarian Society has been running for 175 years and makes great use of the good-to-eat surplus food we redistribute.
